We are always looking for short-term and long-term volunteers. If you only have time to help out on the day of an event, we can use you; if you want to work with us on entire projects, we can you use you, too. In some cases, we need people to staff our tables or run errands or be ushers at our events, so no special skills are needed. But if you have particular talents or skills you would like to bring to us, let us know!
We need:
-fund-raisers and grant-writers
-caterers or cooks or bakers to help with food preparation for our events
-audio-visual specialists who can set up sound stages and video presentations
-computer animation artists to help out with our website and visual presentations at events
-photographer, filmmakers, and editors who can document our events
-musicians and performance artists who would like to perform at our events
-copy editors and graphic designers to work on our publicity materials and other texts (including the book on Southeast Asian American women’s literature we are preparing)
-website designers
-printers who can publish our catalogues and brochures and the T-shirts we would like to sell at our fundraisers
-researchers who can help us establish links to diasporic Vietnamese artists and audiences around the world, and build our online database of diasporic Vietnamese arts information
-liaisons in places outside of the Bay Area and Southern California, including other countries besides the United States
-translators and interpreters who can speak and/or write in Vietnamese or French, to help us do translations at our events and to provide French and Vietnamese language materials and translations for our website
We are probably forgetting other special talents that you might have! Contact Isabelle Thuy Pelaud or Viet Thanh Nguyen.
